"Big Girls Don't Cry" Challenge

by CrossFit South Bay Special Events, Workout of the Day on October 19th, 2008 No Comments

The 8am crew after "Fran" - PRs and benchmarks were set by allNormally CFSB is closed on Sundays but a few months back some of us found out about the Big Girls Don’t Cry Challenge that CrossFit Unlimited was going to do. So we thought it would be cool to do it on the same day as them at our gym since we couldn’t make it up north to join in the fun. The “Big Girls Don’t Cry” challenge consists of 3 workouts:

Workout 1- “Fran”

21-15-9 reps for time of:

  • Thrusters(m95#/w65#)
  • Pull-ups

Workout 2- “Karen”

150 wall ball shots for time(m20#/w12#)

Workout 3 – “Grace”ish

30 reps from floor to overhead for time(m135#/w95#)

Each workout was spaced out about 2 hours apart so we started at 8am. Marcus, Chip, Ruth and Al braved the pre-WOD jitters and tackled each one of these WODs, some of us for the very first time. Helen and Calysta faced their first Frans and did an awesome job but could not join us for the entire day.

Overall we had a great time and we couldn’t thank the Unlimited crew enough for coming up with an excellent way to spend the day with fellow CrossFitters. We were inspired both by our gains and failures today because they showed us how far we’ve come and much further we have to go!

Thanks to Ruth and Chip for providing the fuel for in between workouts. The munchies were key in sustaining through the WODs.

  4. ruth says:

Yeah, the in-between mini-WODS were AMRAP around food table!
