
Proprioception is the sense of the orientation of one’s limbs in space. Many of the exercises we do help improve our sense of kinesthetic awareness but none come close to the benefits of handstands. Being upside down is a new and probably uncomfortable sensation for many of us but that’s what makes us stronger – leaving our comfort zones. Try working the handstand hold or handstand pushup progressions into your warmups or cooldowns once a week and see how much easier they eventually become.
