Last WOD of the Year

by Forrest Uncategorized, Workout of the Day on December 31st, 2009 2 Comments

We are starting off 2010 by hitting the ground running…literally. Wes has entered the Redondo Beach 5K scheduled for February 7th. We would love to send 15 of our athletes to also participate in the 5K run. Who is going to step up? Wes is planning to take first place in his age group.

Sleep: More Important Than Food!?

by Remy Nutrition, Recipes, Workout of the Day on December 29th, 2009 4 Comments

Yeah, no joke. I spent all that time on food when, all this time, sleep was more important. Actually, sleep is more important than food from a survival perspective, but it’s relatively less complicated and you probably face fewer challenges than in eating right, so that explains the emphasis given nutrition. My nutrition filibusters are [...]

Most affiliates will be open to a drop in traveler from another gym. Those who have strict limits on class size, however, are obligated to serve their members [...]

Fit to Fight

by CrossFit South Bay Uncategorized on December 28th, 2009 6 Comments

Sorry if I hop on the soapbox for a little bit with this post, but I think this is an issue that is important to me and the troops I have under me.  I know that most of you are not in the military or in a career field considered to be dangerous, but this [...]

2009 What a Year!

by Chip Workout of the Day on December 26th, 2009 2 Comments

Well the year is not officially over, but it is a good time to look back at the year. Crossfit Southbay has seen a lot of changes in the last year, most for the good.  Tons of new faces and a new improved location.  New trainers, and athletes who have been certified.  PR’s, PR’s, PR’s.  [...]

Merry Christmas

by slaughter Uncategorized, Workout of the Day on December 25th, 2009 4 Comments

Merry Christmas! Quick post today because we are all i’m sure sleeping in after that ridiculous workout. I gotta give props to Forrest though. I asked him for some longer grueling workouts to tax those longer domain energy systems and he delivered. So you all can partially blame me if you want. I hope everyone [...]

Congrats to everyone who made it through the 12 Days of Christmas WOD yesterday. Who knew that it was going to take an hour to complete? Look at the bright side, now filthy fifty won’t seem so bad. Thank you to everyone who also participated in our CFSB adopt-a-family. I dropped off the satchel of [...]

Behold: The Excalibur

by Remy Nutrition, Recipes, Workout of the Day on December 23rd, 2009 24 Comments

Wikipedia describes the Excalibur as “the legendary sword of King Arthur, sometimes attributed with magical powers or associated with the rightful sovereignty of Great Britain.” The Excalibur is also an excellent brand of food dehydrator that will make post-workout food to which we will soon attribute our CrossFit powers. The better we eat, the better [...]

Holla Wallballa!

by Mariessa Workout of the Day on December 22nd, 2009 10 Comments

I love wallball. Maybe that’s because I am tall, maybe I am just crazy. Both are probably true. Wallballs are hard for sure, but there is just something about them that I enjoy. Workouts such as FGB, Karen and Cleaning Karen (one of my favorites) cripple the best of us both mentally and physically. Many [...]
