There is a lot of talk in the fitness industry of working the core. Countless pieces of equipment line store shelves promising to “blast your core!” At CFSB, we go overhead quite a bit with many of the movements performed in the WODs and maintain that nothing works your “core” better than placing weight overhead. While our detractors might contend that overhead lifts are unsafe, it’s safe to argue that push jerks, overhead squats and all the other overhead movements are safer than messing around with stability balls like this guy (link found on CrossFit NYC).
