Carbo-Loading

by CrossFit South Bay Nutrition, Workout of the Day on May 28th, 2009 No Comments

Recently some members have mentioned to me their struggle with breaking the addiction to high amounts of carbs. I’ve heard a few mention the perceived need to “carb up” for events. This couldn’t be further from the truth. A new blog I was introduced to courtesy of CrossFit Coronado had a great piece on the [...]

by CrossFit South Bay Nutrition, Rest Day on May 24th, 2009 No Comments

CrossFit Santa Cruz Central recently blogged about some things to consider when choosing your protein for all you zone eaters out there.  When you eat protein, your body releases the hormone Glucagon, which essentially tells your body to burn fat.  Robb Wolf stressed the importance of choosing “pure” protein, which basically means it had a [...]

Crossfit Cures Hangovers!

by Chip Saturday Morning Workout, Workout of the Day on May 23rd, 2009 No Comments

While not a proven fact, real world experience indicates that Crossfit “Cures” hangovers. I put this to the test this weekend in Las Vegas, after a long Friday night of the normal Las Vegas debauchery. 9:00 AM sharp to Crossfit Las Vegas for a workout. Zack and Joe at Crossfit Las Vegas were great hosts. [...]
