Reminder: Morning Classes Wed and Thur this week at at 6am!!

CrossFit Invictus posted a sobering blog about the effects of alcohol on your training. Most of us begin CrossFit embracing the idea that we have to put a hell of a lot of effort into the WOD to get the results we want. Then, they start to realize that their diets can easily undo all the hard work by causing inflammation, inhibit fat loss, or just not properly feed your body for optimum performance. The hold up occurs for some when asked to forsake alcohol.
The short and sweet of it is that alcohol causes muscles to deteriorate. In fact, there have been several cases of alcohol induced localized rhabdo in athletes that drink during intense training cycles.

As far as this post goes, I think CF Invictus is trying to sabotage other competitors in the Games. They know alcohol is the key to successful training but want to keep it secret.
That’s enough outta you peanut gallery! Guess I’ll be bringing in my own bucket pretty soon. As much as I’m scared of this WOD, I’m rooting for you too, Murphy!

For those of you who truly think alcohol puts a dent into your athletics, perhaps you should consider the dominance of the Russians, Germans, and all the other vodka, wine, beer drinking populations that hve strings of gold medals hanging next to their bars
