I had the privilege of attending the first CF Football Certification this past weekend at CrossFit Balboa. John Welbourn and a host of amazing coaches, both pro football and CF, put on a great cert.
CrossFit Football takes the general preparation of CF and narrows the focus to the sport of football. While the cert was laid back and so much fun, I learned a ton of information. We had three INTENSIVE warm-up sessions and one INTENSIVE stretch session. Did I mention they were intensive? I highly recommend the cert. The level of expertise is through the roof (or uprights) and as always in the CF spirit, everyone is willing to answer any and all questions. If you ever plan to work with sport specific athletes, I highly recommend attending the CF Football Cert.

what an amazing turnout for AM class this morning. Nothing like seeing 9 barbells flying around to start the day! Kudos to Jacob for his impromptu flying pullups and to Murphy who’s gonna get her kipping pull up this week!!
You know I am!!!!!! That bar is gonna see the underside of my chin soon.
Love startin my day the CrossFit way . . . .
i read about this cert a little while ago… it has inspired me to start crossfit soccer, keep your eyes peeled for details
Honestly a combination of Crossfit Soccer and Crossfit Football would be Crossfit Rugby… someone should do that. I’d def be down to try and get that cert. I’m guessing it would just be squats and running all day everyday.
What about Crossfit Chess, Crossfit Billiards, Crossfit Darts, or Crossfit Dominoes?
How about Crossfit Hockey

For Men, they must lift a barbell Ground to Overhead, in any way they wish, for 7000lbs.
The athletes are able to choose which weight they would like. Their options:
155 x 46 reps
135 x 52 reps
95 x 74 reps
75 x 94 reps
i did 135 x 52 reps (power clean to a push jerk)
time = 18:46
my shoulders are going to be fucked tomorrow.
oh yea, and just for fun… sit up tabata – as many sit-ups as you can for 20 seconds and for the 10 second “rest period” we held out in a half sit-up position. we did this for 4 minutes.
Randy Simmons great man.
Against my better judgement- I choose to not pack lunch and cross my fingers that the complimentary lunch at my orientation will be Paleo friendly! Day One- was ok. Took meat and veggies out of the sandwich and salad passed. Day 2- sucked! Had to scrape sauce off the chicken, could not eat the rice, and had to pick cheese and corn out of my salad and the dressing was all cream based. Today Day 3- not any better. Beef bathing in BBQ sauce, mashed potatoes n gravy, salad with no acceptable dressing, soda no water! Argh!!!!!! But it does look tempting and yummy!! Wish me luck, 100 day challenge buddies!
My shoulder was bothering me when i was snatching the weight overhead, so Forrest and I decided to do Tabata Something Else. My scores are as follows:
Pull Ups – 8
Push Ups – 11
Sit ups – 12
Squats – 15
TOTAL: 46
