Matt found us early this year and quickly became part of the family, earning himself all sorts of interesting nicknames!
My first recollection of [Cougar] Matt was of him asking if there were any other “young” people at the gym, because he felt like he was the youngest guy there at his ripe old age of 23. Bastard.
Always light-hearted and eager to crush a WOD, Matt added to the positive energy of the gym by encouraging other athletes mid-WOD as he was trying to catch his breath. We just knew to keep our distance out of the “splash zone” when he was wodding!
Matt “Earmuffs” LeBlanc has also become indispensible to CFSB in volunteering his time on Saturdays to work with the Harbor Youth Challenge, drilling over 60 kids from 7yrs to 16 yrs in various CrossFit WODs. Very soon this year (Oct!!), Matt will be getting his Level I Certification, achieving one of the above goals. My money’s on him getting the other two goals down even before Oct! Happy Birthday, Matt!! Wishing you many many more PRs in this next year!
