Some of us train to simply look and feel better. There are also those of us who enjoy the sense of team and community with a dash of friendly competition. Still there are others who come to CrossFit to reach a level of fitness that will help them perform their jobs better and more effectively. Again Faster asks us to consider our Future Selves as another reason to train. Post your motivations to comments.

My motivation comes from wanting to see how far I can push myself.
i bought a pair of jeans last year, and they were too small. instead of returning them for a bigger size i decided to do some crossfit until i could fit in the jeans.
I train to beat Scott.
No but really, I train to be one of the best rugby players UCLA as ever seen, I want people on the sidelines saying “Damn, I wish that kid was American so he could play for the national team”

prolonging the magic….
after reading that again faster article i was reminded of how annoyed i was when returning to lacrosse after not pushing excercise regiment hard enough and partying too much. you dont realize how fast it fades until your faced with dealing with it. that was the first time i felt old. fuck that…
I was training to compete in next years qualifiers but right now that isn’t looking too good. Maybe 2011.
Funny, I asked myself that question after watching the caliber of women at the games! But then I looked at last years PRs and realized that CF has gotten me some sick gains. So, here’s to another year of sick gains!

And what motivates me. All of the above! Mostly I just want to look like the guys in 300. That movie is what really got be started on my current road of fitness. After doing this, I just don’t ever want to get fat. All the males in my family have put on the spare tire and have suffered the consequences. I want to avoid that at all costs. And now, I just want to see how far I can push myself.

I train because I don’t ever want to have to take meds in order to survive, nor meds to counteract the side effects from the first pills! I look at my parents and their health history and I know I have to stay on top of my game because genetically, i’m doomed!
