CrossFit South Bay Paleo Challenge
Tomorrow begins our paleo challenge: Eat like a caveman for one month.
Our focus is to introduce you to the way we as humans are supposed to eat. With such quality food, you will feel better and definitely perform better. Possible improvements include:
- Lifting heavier
- Faster workout times
- Increase in lean mass
- Deeper sleep
- More alertness
- Less afternoon sleepiness
- Decrease in body fat
- Clearer skin
- Steady blood sugar
- September 1, 2009 – October 1, 2009
- The winner will be determined by popular vote on the most improved physique based on your goals. The prize is TBD, so stay tuned.
- Please take your before picture this week. We will take an after pic at the conclusion of the challenge. Only your trainers will see the pics. If you are in the running for the vote, we will ask your permission before posting your pics.
- Fill out a Paleo Challenge sign up sheet (see a trainer). Be prepared to give at least one goal.
- For resources on eating paleo, please refer to our Nutrition Links on the right of our web page. Remember: we are focusing on paleo foods.
- You are allowed 2 cheat meals (not days) for the month.
- We encourage you to post your progress, questions, thoughts, etc. in the comments each day.
- Your trainers are available for questions and will be glad to help clarify any that you may have.

oh crap…. i’ve never done Fran before. Probably a good benchmark for the paleo though. I’m chillin here eatin a peach, scrambled eggs (2 whole + 4 whites) and a small scoop of raisins and almonds.
Here goes nothin.
Hope you didn’t waste good yolks to just use those egg whites.

nope- i buy the egg white cartons. + a 12 pack of eggs and that usually lasts me about a week. that way my cholesterol isn’t going to go through the roof getting my 35g of protein for breakfast
But cholesterol is… oh, nevermind. *sigh*
Well now that I have finally caught my breath, I must say I’m pretty happy with my Fran time today. First time did it as PxD at 95#. 5:37. 3 seconds faster than my last attempt that was at 85#. Now to break the 5 minute mark.

P.S. Marcus – I eat between 14-20 whole eggs a week. Is this not enough cholesterol???? It also becomes an issue of getting a lot of fat with breakfast that I may not necessarily need.

I lost my Fran virginity as well. She didn’t go slow like I asked her and it hurt a lot and I bled a little. She swears it will get better with practice, but I don’t believe her.
