From Al’s last post you all know that he has been with CFSB since our days in the park in Torrance. He took to CrossFit like green to grass. Early on Al’s dedication and love for CrossFit South Bay was evident. He offered to help with the website, and he turned it into a work of art. His talent in graphic design and sheer passion for creation are illustrated in our logo and t-shirt designs. Al’s true love came through when he became a trainer. He is an awesome coach and cares so deeply about his athletes.
I remember the day Al got his first kipping pull-up. He and I worked together to correct his squat – it’s a thing of beauty!! After a few months he got his wife, Michelle, to join us for a WOD. A CrossFit Family is born! How awesome to have them working out together! Michelle got hooked, attained her Level 1 and trained for us too. Michelle dedicated so much time to the gym; and I am truly honored to have her as a wonderful friend that I can call at a moment’s notice.

I owe much more to Al than the long list above. Al is a true friend, and someone that I hope to have in my life for always. In my heart Al is part of my family, and he will forever have a home at CFSB. While the move to Temecula is for the best, he is already missed so much at the gym. His energy and enthusiasm for CrossFit and for CFSB is matched by no other.
I wish Al the best of luck with every new adventure!
