So you are almost through week 1 of the Paleo challenge. This by far is the toughest week of the challenge but you are almost through it.
The cravings should be subsiding (the crankiness as well if you are like me) and you should be starting to feel a little better. You are no where near what you will feel like at week 8, but you should start noticing the changes.
Now a lot of you have heard about cheat days or cheat meals. This is not the time to indulge in 1. Wait until the end of week 2 at a minimum. Starting now will not allow your body to fully process the changes you are making and can lead to you derailing back to old habits. After two weeks your body will be in a new groove and processing food differently and seriously ramping up the changes in your body.
I have tried both the cheat day and the cheat meal, and have found for me personally the cheat meal works far better. It allows you to spread the 3 meals across time and work it into you busy schedule. Whether you choose a cheat day or a cheat meal, what you will notice is the hangover feeling you have right after the meal or the day. This is especially noticeable if you held off for the first two weeks. As you progress through the 8 week challenge this feeling will get a little worse when you cheat, this will ultimately make it easier to stick to the program.
If you do not make it the first two weeks or something happens and you falter do not despair, and do not give up. Get back on track the immediately the next meal, your body will instantaneously feel better and you will be able to continue to make progress.
Hopefully you have taken pictures and measurements by now, but if you have not do not wait any longer. The changes you will see and feel now that you have started the challenge are going to accelerate quickly.
