Remy Food
I’ve always been a do-it-yourself kind of guy. I always felt like hiring someone to do your dirty work was like paying someone to take your manhood away. In my book those guys who didn’t know how to wax their own car or hook up a stereo were just not quite men yet. I was never going to pay someone to do something for me. Why not? Because I’m a man, dammit.
Then came CrossFit South Bay and 14-hour work days. Simple tasks like cleaning my own bathroom and cooking dinner became a lot more difficult. I finally conceded to the fact that I can’t do it all. There were many nights where I would just come home and eat an apple with some almond butter and a can of tuna and call it dinner. That would be an ok snack every once in a while, but I was starting to feel the affects of not eating enough.
I hired Remy to start cooking my meals for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love cooking, but I love my sanity a little more. Remy asked me what I liked to eat and developed a meal plan for me. She bought all the groceries and spent about 3 hours cooking everything at my house. I was set with lunch and dinner for a week. I don’t think you know how nice it is to have a delicious paleo zone meal ready for you when you come home every day. It’s like having a housewife without all the nagging and random emotions.
Remy has the gift of being able to make just about anything taste delicious. It’s like witchcraft minus the eye of newt. She has a smorgasbord of recipes that can add a little variety to your chicken and steamed broccoli. The best part is that she adds that little something like how momma used to cook: She cooks with love. Her food is some kind of wonderful.
If you find yourself in the same predicament of not having enough time or knowhow to cook your own Paleo meals, then I would highly recommend going with the Remy in-home cook option. It’s extremely cost effective and you won’t regret doing it. The only negative thing is that she only has room for three more customers, so first come first serve.
NLP Invitational
This weekend is the NLP Invitation CrossFit competition. We have some brave athletes participating in it. Arbel, Mike Kodman, Scarlett and Remy will all be participating in the fun. We should all head down to Orange County to support our boys and girls. They have been killing it in the WODs and are going to do extremely well. It’s just a one-day event of fitness shenanigans. There is a prize for the most supportive affiliate. They haven’t experienced the CFSB lovefest yet!
On-Ramp
Our little CrossFit pledges are just finishing their first week of hell week…ergh…I mean On-Ramp. No, we haven’t been forcing them to only eat hotdogs and listen to the Venga Boys on repeat while we sleep deprive them. They are doing extremely well so make sure to welcome them with open arms or suffer the consequence of the burpee monster.
New Classes and New Equipment
CFSB might be the fastest growing CrossFit in the country. Our family is growing larger every week. We are planning to make another big equipment purchase consisting of more kettlebells, jump ropes, rowers, bumper plates and Olympic barbells. There are two new class times at 7AM Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 5PM Monday through Friday. The next class times we will offer will be 10:30AM Saturday and Sunday. Also a big congratulations to Chris Harris on his CrossFit Football cert this past weekend. Chris will start helping out with the Rugby team in the next couple of months. The Beach Reporter will be here tomorrow at the noon class to take pictures and do a story on us. Make sure to show up to the noon class if you can!

really forrest? quote of the day
“It’s like having a housewife without all the nagging and random emotions.”
Wow, Donna, that warms my heart to hear about! How sweet
Definitely shoot an email my way. remy@crossfitsouthbay.com
Christina, I actually emailed Forrest this morning when I awoke to this post. His post didn’t contain any actual commentary on why the post was entitled “Some kind of wonderful”. You might enjoy:
Remy: You forgot to mention why you titled your post thus — how wonderful my/paleo food/recipes are. Sorry, just had to nag you because ‘dirty work’ made me get all randomly emotional
Forrest: There! Fixed! Now quit nagging me and bake me something and knit me a
sweater!
K bye see you CFSB!!!! Have a SUPER fabulous Summer!!!!
