CrossFit is more than just a fitness program, it’s a community of people. We work hard to make sure that as CFSB grows, we still keep that small community feel. We rarely ask you to do things outside the gym, but we feel that these things are important.
- Comment on the blog posts – We spend a lot of time writing the blog posts each day. Our only validation of what we are writing is useful, is your feedback. Don’t worry, it’s not like an evite where you have to come up with a witty comment, just a quick 2 cents would be great. Help our egos a little bit.
- Take before/progress pictures – Nobody like to be reminded of the parts of their body that they don’t like, but it’s a great motivator to take before and progress pictures along the way. Aesthetics are not an indicator of fitness, but they are a motivator. You do CrossFit and your body will change. Take the time and take pictures every 4-6 weeks.
- Write us testimonials – If you’re happy with what we’ve been doing for you, write us and let us know. If you’re unhappy, write us and let us know. Hell, just write us something. We love to hear from you, so don’t be shy and give us some sugar.
- Sign up for the seminars – We plan the seminars for your benefit. We want you to learn the basics of the Paleo diet and mobility. If you don’t go, we won’t have them. The seminars are meant to help you along the path of fitness. Don’t sell yourself short, sign up for our seminars.
- Come to social events – Most of you don’t have any problems coming to social events. There are some of you who have yet to come to one. The social events are a lot of fun and it’s nice to meet some of the people outside of a sweaty breathless hour in a cement box.

Ok Forrest… since I’m the one other dude up in the middle of the night… good lookin’ WOD, can’t wait! Its either me or the WOD but one of us is getting crushed tomorrow
FYI, my arse is still sore from those damn pistols.
Guys! I love the site and thoroughly enjoy the blog posts. I am constantly lurking on your page without commenting. Thanks for the guilt trip.
Forrest, I still owe you 20 bucks but I am in Africa, so will a handstand pic of me in the shirt work for ya? I’ll hold the 20 bucks in my teeth.
I can’t sleep!! So I decided to read emails
ok, so here goes…
1 – here’s my comment
2 – I know I need to take after pictures. I am putting that off but ill do it!
3 – Forest, I like the way you coach us and go over the movements before a workout. Even after 5 months I need reminders of the difference between a clean and a power clean…
4 – do the seminars have to always be on a saturday? Its hard enough getting to the gym on a saturday yet alone staying afterwards for a seminar when all I really want to be doing is bronzing at the beach (or better yet having a cocktail on hennessys roof top).
5 – I think I have the social part down….
Excited to be back at CFSB tomorrow after being gone for a week! See you soon!
this looks like a great wod. wish i could do it. damn you hamstring! damn you to hell! i am currently prepping for my before photo by getting as out of shape as possible while rehabing the hammy. let’s take the before photo my first day back at cfsb. by then i’ll be nice and plump.
I always love reading the blog in the mornings. It’s always amusing, entertaining, and insightful. Keep writing them and I’ll definitely keep reading them. I’d like another mobility seminar, I missed the first one. I heard it was awesome to hear the guy show you what’s wrong w/ your flexibility and all. And I’ll have to agree w/ Constance, I think I have the social aspect down, maybe a little too well.
Does coming to a social event by accident count?
Can I take 2 after photos? 1 after literally sitting on the couch for a month and 1 after a couple months of getting back in to the CF routine. I wish we would have taken them in On-ramp, it would be nice to see where I am now.
Mark – you need to keep coming, just program around your Hammy!! If Forrest can program around Vertigo, I bet he can get around a hammy with his eyes closed.
When you say 80m you mean to the end of the parking lot and back TWICE? right because that’s what we did for that 6 man workout.
My bad Andrew, it’s supposed to be a 40M sprint.
Love all the comments btw, it totally validates my existence. Keep it up or I’ll make you do 100 burpees every day for your warm-up.
Are chest to deck push ups those ones where you have to release your hands from the ground at the bottom? BTW the first thing i do when i get up in the morning is read the posts. I am glad i help justify your existence.
Forrest, this post was barely funny at all. You’ve had much funnier ones.
Love the CFSB. Can’t get enough of this shit.
I agree with Arbel….keep up with the funny ones
Arbel and Charlene, I see what I am to you now. I’m just a dancing monkey here for your entertainment. All I do is give give give and what do you do? Demand more funny. Never enough funny.
Forrest (and Mariessa, Matt, Remy, RIP slaughter’s post). I made Crossfit SB my homepage so its the first thing I see when I get on the internet. I read it every day.
Forrest, here is my validation for you… I’m in with Arbel and Charlene. So now monkey, let the dancing begin.
Really, we need to figure out how to make the beer tabata survivable. Maybe a team tabata? But actually I’m still in favor of 3 man.
