CrossFit Level I Coach
CrossFit Specialty Certifications: Endurance, Mobility/Movement, Gymnastics
I have played just about every sport there is, especially any that provide an adrenaline rush, so trying CrossFit was inevitable. However, after my first CrossFit workout, I was hooked and proceeded to jump in with both feet and never look back!!
My favorite part about coaching is helping you achieve something you never thought possible: your first pull-up, getting into the best shape of your life, or eliminating that nagging knee pain. So, whatever your goals, come on in and lets work together to accomplish them.

CrossFit Level 1 Coach
CrossFit Specialty Certifications: CrossFit Football
I am an athlete at heart and enjoy competition. My athletic experience is broad and varied from all major American sports to track and field events and finally a scholarship to play Division 1 football for the University of Texas at El Paso. My physical fitness background is more aligned with a football style strength and conditioning program. (Heavy lifting and short heavy intense WOD’s)
The main reason I Crossfit is because it’s fun! I’ve trained at regular gyms off and on over the years, but until I found Crossfit nothing came close to the enjoyment, comradery, and level of competition I had only previously experienced in organized sports.
I have two basic goals for my athletes:
- Enjoy your workout
- Learn to push yourself beyond what your mind thinks is possible

Ashley Van Horne CrossFit Coach, On-Ramp

CrossFit Level 1 Coach
CrossFit Specialty Certifications: CrossFit Football
After playing all different sports and trying all styles of working out, I fell in love with the high-intensity nature of CrossFit. As an NFL publicist working with all levels of football players, I have seen first-hand what goes into the makings of an elite competitor, and I love to relate the lessons I have learned in injury prevention, mental toughness, and body development to the everyday athlete. I truly believe the camaraderie and team atmosphere combined with our level of instruction at CrossFit South Bay pushes our athletes to try new things and constantly challenge themselves.
I love teaching On-Ramp at CrossFit South Bay – introducing a new way of approaching training to individuals is extremely rewarding. We cover everything from metabolic pathways, to nutrition,f to the basics of getting in the best shape of your life – targeting the muscles that you didn’t know you had, and not just the “mirror muscles.” I love identifying athletes’ goals and creating specific plans to make them happen. As a coach, my philosophy is CHALLENGE, CHALLENGE, CHALLENGE! Let’s keep our bodies guessing and always improving – never settle!
In addition to coaching, I also write a paleo recipe blog called www.paleomadeline.com – easy, fast and family-friendly recipes for the beginner and the advanced paleo chef.
