At CrossFit South Bay, we are determined to help each and every one of our members reach their fitness goals. We offer many group fitness classes and also personal training for each of our members. One class that our members love is yoga. We offer a beginner yoga class to help our members ease their way into this challenging and rewarding class.
Yoga is a fitness and wellness class that focuses on a series of stretches that focus on core strength training. It takes a lot of flexibility and strength to properly perform some of the poses and stretches. Out beginner class helps teach the fundamentals of yoga.
Your yoga instructor will walk you through a series of poses that all have their own individual names. It can be hard to keep track of these names when you are just starting yourself into yoga.
Downward Facing Dog – Commonly called “down dog”, this pose is completed by placing your feet and hands flat on the floor creating a triangle with your body
Upward Facing Dog – this pose is commonly referred to as “up dog”. Lying on your stomach, push your upper body up curving your back and extending your neck all the way back.
Warrior 1 – With one foot forward and one stretched straight out behind you, bend your front knee and watch yourself raise your hands in the air.
