CrossFit can be an intimidating word. But it doesn’t have to be. At CrossFit South Bay, we train you how to do each workout correctly and in a way that will allow you to grow and improve. There is always room to progress with every workout, whether it’s adding weight, adding reps or improving on your time.
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that consists of constantly varied functional movements that are performed at high-intensity across broad time and modal domains. Each workout is constantly varied. This is because our bodies are highly adaptive. If you have your body repeating the same workouts without changing a thing, it will get used to the persistent movements and make your efforts less effective. CrossFit keeps your body on its toes and keeps it guessing by introducing different movements each class. Our workouts of the day (WOD) are completely unique every class. You won’t have the problem of plateauing anymore, since your body doesn’t see what’s coming next.
Each WOD is different. Not only do the workouts change, the length of time that you perform each exercise changes as well. One day you could be doing four rounds of kettlebell swings, box jumps and then sit ups in a row, while the next day you could be doing as many rounds as you can of pullups, pushups and squats in 10 minutes. Whether the workout is 5 minutes or an hour, we want you to get the same level of physicality from each workout. Our trainers will teach you how to pace yourself and to be constant in your movements so that you can get as much out of your workout as you can.
