What is yin yoga? To really understand the practice of yin yoga, one must experience it. It is a slow-paced style of yoga with poses that are held for longer periods of time. Our Yin Yoga class will have you feeling muscles that you’ve never felt before and allow you to relax your mind and body.
When poses are held for a certain amount of time, muscles experience a moderate level of stress that increases circulation in the joints and helps improve flexibility. Individuals cultivate awareness in their inner silence and develop a positive well-being. The deep connective tissues in your body will be targeted, helping to regulate the flow of energy in your body. You will practice more static postures that allow you to relax in each one, while your muscles are softened and stretched.
During each held position, we encourage you to meditate and become one with your body. Listen to what your body is telling you and make adjustments according to how it is feeling. You will have the time to dig deep into the roots of your feelings and emotions and bring your mind to a relaxed state. After taking our yin yoga classes, you will have greater stamina, have more energy through your body, be calm and balanced in your mind and body, and be able to feel a deeper relaxation.
